Director Bala last delivered the 2018 thriller drama 'Nachiyar' starring Jyotika. He also made 'Varmaa', the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit 'Arjun Reddy' (2017) starring Vijay Devarakonda, but that was scrapped and made as 'Adithya Varma' in 2019 directed by Gireesaaya.
Reports are currently in from sources that say that Director Bala is set to reunite with Actor Suriya to make a film that will be produced under his banner 2D Entertainment. Actor Atharvaa is expected to play the lead role in the film and the shooting is likely to start from December 2021. DOP Balasubramaniam, who has earlier worked in many popular films including 'Pithamagan', '180 (Nootrenbadhu)', 'Pasanga 2' and the latest 'Chakra' - is said to be roped in for the film.
Although it is not known if Suriya will be acting in the movie, he is expected to make a cameo appearance in the film. But again, official information on the same is expected from the makers.
Suriya's association with Director Bala goes a long way as it gave him a push early in his career that made him the actor he is today. His first film with him was 'Nandha' in 2001. The duo later collaborated for 'Pithamagan' (2003), and it was also a hit both critically and commercially. Suriya then appeared for a cameo role in Bala's 'Avan Ivan' (2011) starring Vishal and Arya in lead roles.
