Nepotism is a topic that has been in the news recently and many celebrities have taken their stand and expressed their opinions about it.
Recently, Bollywood actress and television host Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaya F spoke about her experience as a famous personality’s daughter and how she managed to find her breakthrough in the film industry.
The 22-year old actress said, “Nepotism is a reality and I am really glad to be spoken about. I think most people understand the idea of what nepotism is and sometimes it doesn’t come out in the right way. If you are aware, you acknowledge it, and work hard on it, everything is going to be okay. For instance, I did not take my mother’s help while working or winning this opportunity. It was always me and my agency.”
Speaking about the impact of having a famous surname, she said, “I still do acknowledge and address the fact that a name attached to you even when you choose to use it or not will give you an advantage.”
Talking about her own efforts and her career plans, she added, “I trained myself for four years to be sure of what I was good at.”
“As far as my aspirations go, I want to do conventional and unconventional roles which will bring diversity in what I do.”
“My main fears are letting myself down more than anything.”
Alaya F made her Bollywood debut in ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ alongside Saif Ali Khan and Tabu directed by Nitin Kakkar. She is the daughter of television host, actress and newspaper columnist.
