Superstar Rajinikanth's 2.0, directed by Shankar, hit the screens yesterday (November 29), on a grand opening note. The film is being praised for its spectacular visuals, and technical brilliance, apart from Shankar's visuals and the lead cast's fantastic performances.
Akshay Kumar's character in 2.0 was called Dr.Pakshi Rajan, an ornithologist. It is now being reported that Pakshi Rajan's character is a real life inspiration of Salim Ali, who is known as the Birdman of India.
Salim Ali was one of the first Indians to conduct systematic bird surveys across India, who also popularised ornithology in the country. Akshay Kumar's character is said to have been designed based on Salim Ali's character and looks.
