It is no secret that the Tamil film industry is going through a tumultuous time with shoots having been cancelled owing to the pandemic. The most affected are the workers. Many have come forward to lend a helping hand to them and the latest is actor Ajith Kumar who has donated Rs 10 lakh to Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI). He had earlier donated Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.

On the work front, Ajith was last seen in Nerkonda Paarvai, which released in 2019 and was helmed by H Vinoth. The film was produced by Boney Kapoor and was a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan hit Pink. The same combo is now coming together for Valimai. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who composed music for Nerkonda Paarvai, takes up the mantle here as well.
Ajith's first look from Valimai was supposed to release on May 1, on account of the actor’s 50th birthday, but was postponed owing to the second wave that the country is reeling from. The film’s producer Boney Kapoor assured that the updates would come when the time is right. Ajith fans were asking prominent celebrities for updates on Valimai post which the actor issued a press statement, asking them to show restraint.
