Keerthy Suresh was last seen in the AR Murugadoss-directed Vijay starrer 'Sarkar'. The actress was praised for her portrayal of yesteryear heroine Savithri in last year's 'Nadigayar Thilagam'. Keerthy Suresh has recently signed up for a hindi film thereby marking her debut in Bollywood. The actress is paired alongside Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn and will be directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma of 'Badhai Ho' fame.
Recent reports confirm that film's lead actor, Ajay Devgn will essay the role of real life sporting legend Syed Abdul Rahim, head coach of India's first football team and also known as the "Architect of Indian football's Golden era". Under Syed Abdul Rahim's period as coach, the Indian football team won the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962 and reached the semi-finals of 1956 Summer Olympics.
The film is written by Saiwyn Quadras of "Neerja" fame and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta . The film will be shot in multiple locations and the makers are eyeing for a multilingual release.
