After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. On October 8, Samantha shared a note to her fans and well wishers about how she was pained with various rumours being spread. She slammed those who are circulating baseless speculations about her having affairs and abortions. She added that nothing can break her. Soon, she received support from many celebrities and fans.

Ever since the couple's separation was made official, trolls have been speculating about the reasons for their divorce. Many suggested that Samantha's close relationship with her stylist Preetham Jukalker was the reason behind the couple's separation. Preetham Jukalker opened up for the first time and said that he calls Samantha as ‘Jiji’ which is a north Indian term for sister. Speaking about Naga Chaitanya's silence, he said that he's known Chaitanya for years and feels that he could’ve spoken up and told people not to comment like that about Sam and him.

Further, he rubbished all rumours and wrote a post on Instagram saying, “Hold the truth and defend the truth until death". Nothing is going to stop me from standing up for my Jiji & best friend @samantharuthprabhuoffl you know I always love you for being what you are, you’re an example for all of us in every possible way.. saying it again with so much pride “I Love you JIJI “ since this is where it all started from …!"
