The film is produced in Tamil (2D) (3D), Telugu (2D) (3D) (IMAX), Hindi (2D) (3D) and licensed to Tamil by Lyca. Subhaskaran's Lyca Productions has released 'RRR' in 550 theaters in Tamil Nadu.

The film is based on the lives of Telugu freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film stars Ram Charan as Alluri Sitarama Raju. Alluri Sitarama Raju from Andhra Pradesh fought against the British for independence.

Jr NTR plays the role of Komaram Bheem. Komaram Bheem was a native of Hyderabad who fought against the Nizams and whites. These two great warriors lived at different times. Director Mr. Rajamouli says that the focus of 'RRR' is on what it would be like if the two met.

RRR grossed Rs 223 crore worldwide on its opening day. Similarly, in the first three days, it has collected a total of Rs 500 crore.

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who watched RRR, has posted about the film and Rajamouli on Instagram. In it, she says - "SS Rajamouli sir has proved he is the greatest Indian director ever... He has never given an unsuccessful film..."
