DMK chief MK Stalin was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, along with 33 members of his cabinet, by Governor Banwarilal Purohit in a simple ceremony - amid restrictions in place due to the pandemic - at the Raj Bhavan in Chennai this morning.
His wife Durga Stalin, son Udhayanidhi, who made his poll debut this year and won from Chennai's Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni seat; and sister, Lok Sabha MP Kanimozhi, Kamal Haasan were among those present.
Congratulatory wishes have been pouring in for the newly-sworn in Chief Minister, MK Stalin. The latest celebrity to have send his congratulatory wishes is actor Suriya. He starts off his letter with, “’முடியுமா நம்மால் என்பது தோல்விக்கு முன்பு வரும் தயக்கம்...முடித்தே தீருவோம் என்பது வெற்றிக்கான தொடக்கம்...’ - ’முத்தமிழ் அறிஞர்’ கலைஞர்”
Further he states, “When lot of high priority things are there to be taken care, M K Stalin has taken charge as CM of TN - I express my heartfelt wishes to M K Stalin. Your ascendance as CM at this hour, when people are running pillar to post in search of oxygen to breathe and live, has instilled confidence in us. TN will march forward with development and prosperity in all spheres. You have an experienced lot of people to take care of various ministries, I wish them also success in their endeavours. Let your voice be the Tamils voice in retrieving the basic rights.”
