Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru aka D16, directed by the youngster Karthik Naren, will be hitting the screens on the 29th December. The film features Rahman along with many newcomers. The trailer of the film revealed that it could be an intelligent product and we catch up with Rahman to find out his thoughts.
Why I accepted the film
When the script came to me, it took a couple of sittings to decide and say yes to it. Primarily because it was a cop role and I had done a few films essaying the character. I should admit I was apprehensive as the entire crew was very young and I was not sure how they are going to go about things. But once on board, they totally impressed me with their team effort, coordination, working style and professionalism. I understood they knew what they were doing. I usually try to do different characters and you will realize that D16 is one such film.
I did not interfere
I am someone who interferes in every department of film making because I want the project to come out perfect. But in D16, I did not do that at all as I was satisfied with the way the team was working.
D-16
I am very happy about the positive buzz for the film. It is a very sensible film and will surely be an inspiration for the younger generation and a lesson for aspiring talents into the film industry. Post D16, there will be a change in the industry as regards approaches towards film making.
Private screening
I saw the film. I am very delighted and proud to have been a part of this venture. I screened D-16 to my friends from the industry and actor Mohan said that this is going to be my signature film. Khushbu, Suhasini, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Sundar C and others liked it a lot and applauded it.
Producer
I should also talk about the producer here. He is such a good hearted man. It is one of those rare occasions where I saw a producer signing cheques for people who have done small roles. He is a man of high ethics and our industry should have more of such people.
We wish you the best Rahman and Team D-16
