Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal, though is gearing up for a Diwali release, there are a few problems and issues prevailing over the film's release.
On that note, actor and producer Nithin Sathya, had officially released a video statement through which he has lended his support for Thenandal Studios and Vijay. "I do not know why the tension arises for every film's release, as only close to the film's release date, all problems pop up. I have the belief that Mersal will come out as a successful film. Vijay sir is a big star, Atlee is one of the big directors in the industry, and there is also Murali sir, and Hema ma'am, who have been putting huge efforts to make this film shape up well.
Because of few politics involved inside, issues like these come up. Everything will get solved and Mersal will become a sureshot big hit. I have the belief and faith. It will happen."
Costume designer Neeraja Kona, for the first time, has designed for Vijay, in Mersal, directed by Atlee. She has taken care of the costumes worn by Thalapathy in the retro flashback portion.
Talking about how she signed this film, Neeraja says, "It was 9 pm in the night and I got a call from Jagdish, Vijay's manager. He told me that I have been confirmed as one of the costume designers for Mersal, and added that I'd get an official call the next day. I asked him if he was joking and he said 'no'. I was on cloud nine and as he said, I got a call the following day. I immediately flew down to Chennai to meet Atlee. For me, it was a fanboy moment, as Raja Rani is a film that is so close to my heart.
Samantha is one of my best friends. I told her that it would be great if she gets to work with Atlee soon, so that I can also work with him. And it happened immediately in Theri, but I missed that film, as I was pregnant at that time.
Very fortunately, once again the opportunity came, and this time, I got the chance to work with them. It was such a dream come true, to style for one of the biggest stars, Vijay sir, that too, in Atlee's film."
