After the overwhelming success of the film, it was remade in Kannada as '99' by Preetham Gubbi and the latest Telugu version of the film titled 'Jaanu' was directed by Prem Kumar himself and it was produced by Dil Raju, in association with Sri Venkateswara Creations. 

The Telugu version starred actor Samantha and Sharwanand in the lead roles and the film received a warm reception from the audience too. The hero Sharwanand, is known for his memorable performance in the Tamil film 'Engeyum Eppothum' with Jai and Anjali.
