The Southern India Cinematographers Association, known widely as SICA, is planning to conduct its core committee member elections this November 8th. Big names from the business like PC Sreeram, Rajiv Menon and B Kannan have formed a team and have planned to contest the elections.
A known source confirms that this sudden entry of biggies into the association is to revive the original motto of the association, that is, to meet at regular intervals and discuss ideas. Years before, members made sure that they transferred their experience and discoveries with respect to the art of cinematography, by meeting often.
Currently, few members feel that the essence of the association has been lost and a proactive leadership is lacking. Therefore they look forward to this election hoping to bring back the energy in the association. This team headed by PC Sreeram aims at streamlining the events related to the association.
Are we going to witness yet another mega-scale, controversy-filled elections? Time shall answer.
