ADVANTAGE THANGAMAGAN ...

The Dhanush starrer Thangamagan releases today, Dec 18, worldwide and some overseas markets like UK and Canada have already screened a few shows. As a further boost to its trade prospects in Tamil Nadu, the film has been given the entertainment tax exemption. In simple terms, the film's gross in the state would become its net as well. The prospects of distributors recovering their investment would be improved thanks to this exemption.

 

The other two big releases today are from Bollywood - Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani. The latter is also having regional dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu, whereas Shahrukh Khan's popularity ought to guarantee Dilwale a big opening all over.
