This past week was a really testing phase for Chennai, Cuddalore and other parts as heavy rains ravaged the state. Flooding was commonplace and lakhs of families lost their belongings in all the devastation. Many celebrities from the film world have been doing their bits in the relief efforts and have also inspired countless youngsters to join them in the cause. The work done by cops, other NGOs, politicians and volunteers is also praiseworthy.
Coming to the Tamil film world, the films which were supposed to release on Dec 4th such as Rajini Murugan and Eetti postponed their dates as the public was in no mood to experience films, given all that was happening around them. Only Urumeen released and the general audience occupancy in the theaters that were in operation in and around Chennai city was poor. Many theaters have been closed since last Tuesday (Dec 1) and we have to see when all theaters would be back in business. Hence, there would be no Behindwoods box-office report today, as is generally the practice, considering the extraordinary situation in and around Chennai.
Meanwhile today, the sun is out and it seems we would slowly return to normal if such optimistic weather continues. Hoping for the best.
