Heavy rain continues to scourge people in and around Chennai and also other parts of Tamil Nadu, disrupting the normal life of people. Schools and colleges are being closed and public transportations are hugely affected. Roads are flooded as Chennai city has recorded a massive 14.9 cm rainfall since Thursday night. Memes on Chennai’s current scenario are on a rampage, thanks to social networks.
This situation could get worse. Our question now is how would this impact our two Diwali crackers Vedalam and Thoongavanam? Some crazy fans just don’t mind the rain and would do anything to watch their favorite star on the giant screen but what about the general family audience? Would they be ok watching a film after getting all drenched?
There is a huge investment behind these films and this weekend is going to be really crucial. Let’s hope for better conditions so that our audience could enjoy these films in theatres.
Please don’t encourage piracy just because you couldn’t commute to the theatres because of this heavy fall.
