Editor Ruben is fresh from working non-stop on the final cut of Vedalam, which gets ready for release tomorrow, November 10. We chat with the happening young editor on the experience,
"I am not new to working under such release deadlines as we faced a similar situation for Naan Sigappu Manithan as well. But Vedalam's shoot got postponed due to some unforeseen circumstances and this had an impact on our post production work schedule as well.
While working on the final cut, we didn't sleep for 4 days at a stretch, and director Siva and my assistants were very helpful and supportive during this period. We all took power naps in rotation and made sure that the work wasn't impacted. We were all driven by the belief that we were giving out a good product. Siva sir's trust on my abilities was also a positive factor.
Working individually on a big star's film for the first time was enjoyable and at the same time challenging. We have to satisfy not just the audience but the star's large fan base as well. It will be Ajith sir's career best performance for sure. There would be enjoyable positive and negative shades in his role, and he has done no compromises for the numerous stunt scenes. There would be 8 of them totally, with 3 main sequences. The interval and climax stunt blocks would be varied and we have cut them well. Ajith sir's energy levels were great.
Vedalam would be a treat not just for Ajith fans but also for family audiences and specifically women. We expect the film to be received very well. The film is also technically sound with apt use of VFX. All those who saw the film's final cut at the special screening were unanimous in their praise of the film".
