The basic ingredient behind a successful movie, keeping aside all the commercial elements, is a strong storyline coupled with a watertight screenplay. And AK scores heavily in these aspects.
Director Manikandan has to be lauded for assigning roles perfectly, be it in the technical side or the casting.
His decision to write the screenplay along with Anucharan, who delivered Kirumi and newcomer Arulchezhiyan is a masterstroke as it never withers out in the entire runtime of the movie.
Manikandan has the canny knack of delivering a product filled with social messages sprinkled with a heavy dosage of humor. AK is no exception and the performances of all the actors starting from VJS, Rithika Singh, Nasser to the guy who acted as the Sri Lankan Tamil is praiseworthy and so natural.
The biggest gainer from this movie should be Yogi Babu, who appeared in small roles in numerous films before, and has been given a substantial role as he leaves the audience in splits throughout the entire first half and gains sympathy from the audience at the end.
Taking up issues like Divorce, Passport scandals, Rental tortures and the plight of Srilankan Tamils and not making the movie too preachy is commendable and director Manikandan is definitely going from strength to strength!!
Finally, if VJS chooses such classy films, the audiences are ready to watch even 10 films in a year, as the content is always the king!
