"WHAT DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE 'BULB-GIVING' MOMENT WITH VIJAY" - SUNAINA ANSWERS
Working with Vijay:
Vijay is a very simple and kind hearted person
Vijay is a very simple and kind-hearted person. I really enjoyed working with him. I have met him in the past during the audio launch of my film Kadhalil Vizhunthen, though we didn’t have an opportunity to converse then. It was very exciting to work with him and I’m very happy about this movie.
How were you approached for this film?
It was director Atlee who approached me first.
It was director Atlee who approached me first. He explained the role to me and how he felt I fit the character perfectly. It was a pleasant surprise for me that I was being approached for this project. I was happy to agree because even I felt that I fit the role.
Your take on Atlee, the young director:
He has the skills of a person who has done a lot of films.
Atlee is a very talented person. He doesn’t give you the impression that he is a director who is just two movies old. He has the skills of a person who has done a lot of films. He is also a very friendly person.
What do you feel about the ‘Bulb-Giving’ moment where you call Vijay ‘brother’?
It feels special to be a part of the trailer too considering the massive reach it has.
(Laughs out heartily) I’m really happy about the fact that that scene got included in the trailer. I hadn’t expected it. It feels special to be a part of the trailer too considering the massive reach it has.
Did the thought “I wish I played the lead” occur to you when you were asked to make a special appearance?
My first thought was “Why am I being approached?”
I have done a special appearance in this film. That by itself is very special to me. When Atlee came and spoke to me about the project, my first thought was “Why am I being approached?” So even though it is only a special appearance in the film I did it with complete joy.
One actor in Kollywood whom you feel is really ‘skilled’ in terms of acting
Dhanush is one actor who is doing a good job when it comes to acting..
Dhanush. I feel he is one person who is doing a really good job when it comes to acting. The amount of hard work he puts to bring a character to life, shows on screen. I respect and admire him for this aspect
One director, acting under whom, you feel will be a feather upon your hat?
I’ve always wanted to be a part of Mani Ratnam’s or Gautham Menon’s film
I’ve always wanted to be a part of Mani Ratnam’s or Gautham Menon’s film. I feel they are two directors who make films that are very magical. Working under them will be a wish come true for me.
Future Projects:
There are other Telugu films for which I was approached which I am yet to confirm.
My next film is Kavalai Vendam directed by Deekay. Im playing a role along with Jiiva, RJ Balaji and Bobby Simha who has played an extended guest role. There are other Telugu films for which I was approached which I am yet to confirm.
Working with Jiiva in Kavalai Vendam
No, there weren’t any pranks that were played.
The sets of Kavalai Vendam were always exciting and filled with fun. No, there weren’t any pranks that were played. But there was definitely a lot of fun conversation going around. There was RJ Balaji and Jiiva who never failed to make a delightful conversation.
What is success to you as an actress?
Success to me is making a place for myself in people’s hearts
Success to me is making a place for myself in people’s hearts. It is not an award or a film with a great director or actor. While an award or a film with a star director would be great if they happen, it is not something that I work for. To me success is to win people’s hearts.
