Bait
Braeden Rouse is from the Alberta area of Canada. Out of boredome during his vacation last week, he decided to go fishing and got into the car with his girlfriend Sidney Kozelenko and travelled for 3 hours to the Fraser River.
With the onset of winter in Canada, the two sailed on the river with their small fishing boat as there were no crowds.
Trapped fish
After spending some time on the boat, Rouse realized that something is wrong with the bait. He tried to take it out immediately but he could not. Gradually, he realized that he has caught one of the biggest fish in the bait.
As the boat began to shake, Rouse relaxed and leveled the boat. The couple have been operating the boat for about 25 minutes, planning to sail until the fish trapped in the bait got tired. At one point, when the fish lost its aggression, Rouse left the boats to the shore and went after the fish.
Giant fish
The couple is trying to get the fish out of the bait when they reached the shore. Only then, they were pleasantly surprised. They both jumped in joy when they found out that a monster sturgeon was trapped in their bait.
Known locally as the 'living dinosaur', the fish was 8 feet 6 inches long and weighed 159 kg.
Researchers have confirmed that this species of fish lived about 245-208 million years ago. The video of the couple filming an attempt to catch a rare giant fish is currently spreading virally on social web sites.
