Tony Finn worked as an electrician for a private company in Yorkshire, England. He was fired last year. He has worked for the company for 24 years.
In this context, one of the company's top executives is said to have mocked Tony Finn's baldness. Tony Finn had complained to Labor that he had been unfairly fired for asking him about it.
The case was heard by a three-member bench. The judges then said that the insult was against the dignity of the claimants. They also said that mocking women's organs in the workplace is a sexual offense, as well as mocking men's baldness.
All 3 members of the jury then referred to their own experience with hair loss and said that men are more prone to baldness than women. They also said that the use of the word 'bald' was an insult to the 'protected nature of gender'. Mentioning a case in 1995 that referring to a man as bald is tantamount to criticizing a woman's breast, so the judges fired Tony Finn for compensation.
