The Indian Express reported that the video was shot at a park in Calahorra. In the video, the fire gradually spreads and burns the white layer that is found atop the grass. This white layer is that of the seeds which are said to have descended from the poplar trees present. Hence, the fire was ignited to burn the seeds, in order to reveal the green grass.
As this video was shared, the comments section on Twitter and Facebook are filled with people who claimed it to be ‘visual effects’. However, some others have explained the science behind it. One user has commented, “That is the most well-behaved fire that I have ever seen.” Another has explained the science behind it, “Basically, in the time it takes for the pollen to catch fire and burn up, the lively, well-watered grass isn't exposed to the heat nearly long enough to catch fire itself.”
The clip was first shared on Facebook by a Not for Profit Organisation named Club De Montana Calahorra. It was later shared on Twitter by YouTuber Kyle Hill.
This clip has gained over 6.8 million views and 232.2k likes since posted.
