Trump's Close Aide Tests Positive For Coronavirus; President Says, "Going To Get Tested Daily!"
Home > News Shots > World newsA member of the US military who worked at the White House has tested positive for the coronavirus. Soon after the news got viral, US President Donald Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence gave their test to which they have tested negative.
During a recent meeting with the governor of Texas, Trump told reporters that he had contact with the man and would be tested daily going forward. Both, Trump nor Pence wore masks during the meeting.
"No matter what you do, testing is not a perfect art. So we test once a week. Now we're going to get tested once a day. But even when you test once a day somebody could, something happens where they get something," Trump said.
"I've had very little contact with this gentleman. Know who he is, good person... Yeah it's a little bit strange, but it's one of those things," he further added.
Meanwhile, a White House spokesman claimed that Trump and Pence had tested negative.
Spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement, "We were recently notified by the White House Medical Unit that a member of the United States Military, who works on the White House campus, has tested positive for coronavirus. The President and the Vice President have since tested negative for the virus and they remain in great health."
Earlier on April 3, the White House stated that anyone who is expected to be near US President or Pence will give a rapid COVID-19 test as a measure towards the virus.
