The protest grew violent after some people threw bricks and bottles, while others raised slogans against the US President.
As per a New York Times report, Trump was there for less than an hour before being brought upstairs back to his room. As the protest grew violent, Secret Service and the United States Park Police officers blocked the protesters at the gate.
As the protest was growing violent, Trump's team was surprised to witnessed such a massive crowd outside the White House. It is still, unclear if Melania Trump and the couple’s 14-year-old son, Barron Trump were also taken down with the President for safety.
Ever since the death of Geroge Floyd has taken place on Monday, it has sparked unrest and protests in dozens of cities across the US, including Washington DC. On May 31, more than 40 cities across the United States have imposed curfews.
To curb this protest, National Guard members have been activated in 15 states while another 2,000 have been prepared to activate if needed.
This protest and demonstrators across the United States is getting violent since May 25, after George Floyd, a 46-year-old African-American man, was killed under the police custody in the city of Minneapolis.
