'Trump Death Clock' Billboard at Times Square becomes World's New Attraction; Counts Avoidable Covid-19 Deaths in US!
Home > News Shots > World newsAs US reports nearly 1.4 million cases with more than 81,000 deaths due to the deadly virus, a billboard has been erected at Times Square in New York to highlight the number of deaths due to US President Donald Trump’s alleged delay in curbing the virus.
The billboard has grabbed the world's attention with the name- ‘Trump Death Clock’. It has been created by award winning filmmaker Eugene Jarecki. This clock shows the number of lives which could have been saved if the US president could have acted early.
As per a Republic World report, Jarecki first thought of introducing a website showing the numbers but after receiving suggestions to put on a billboard he changed his mind. Also during an interview, the filmmaker said that the cost of the billboard was less and affordable when compared to normal times.
Meanwhile, Jarecki further claims that the current death clock is based on an estimate calculated by specialists. Ever since the outbreak has taken place, Trump has been questioned for the delay in COVID-19 response and also ignored warnings of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Looking at the latest stats, United States, is among the worst-hit countries due to the pandemic. Among most of the cities, New York has reported more than one-fourth of the nationwide coronavirus cases.
