Trump administration plans to end work permits for spouses of H1B visa holders

In a major blow for thousands of Indians, President Donald Trump’s administration in US is reportedly planning to end the work permits for the spouses of H1B visa holders. Obama administration in 2015 issued a rule allowing work permits for the spouses, who hold H-4 visas. The end of the rule will affect about 70,000 H-4 visa holders. More than one lakh H-4 visa holders have been beneficiaries of the Obama-era rule, reports said.
