Sundar Pichai Becomes CEO of Google's Parent Company; Growth Chart Listed
Home > News Shots > World newsSundar Pichai, the Chief Executive Officer of Google has been named as CEO of its Parent Company Alphabet Inc. (Multinational conglomerate company). The announcement was made jointly by founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin on December 3 (Tuesday). Pichai will be replacing Larry Page who was also the CEO of Alphabet Inc.
The reports also say that Pichai will continue his job as the CEO of Google in addition to assuming the responsibilities of CEO for Alphabet Inc.

Sundar Pichai's growth has been phenomenal globally for more than a decade. Pichai has its origin in Madurai, Tamil Nadu where he was born on June 10, 1972. After graduating from Wharton business school, Stanford University and IIT Kharagpur, Pichai began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Co.
Pichai was first interviewed by Google on April 1, 2004 - the same day Gmail was born. He was greatly credited for his role in the development of Google Chrome. Later, Pichai took over the Android business from that Group's founder Andy Rubin.
Reportedly Pichai's venture into Android business made Google ship over 1 billion devices in the second year of his tenure itself.
The later phases lead Pichai to take over the product and engineering at Google's Internet businesses. The brighter side of his growth chart made him the CEO of Google in 2015.
