A woman was found breathing in a mortuary fridge after having been declared dead by paramedics in South Africa’s Gauteng province, say reports. After morgue worker found her breathing at the Carletonville morgue, she is now recovering in hospital east of Johannesburg.
The family of the woman have demanded answers, while authorities have been carrying out an investigation into the incident. The woman showed 'no signs of life' following the car crash, said Gerrit Bradnick, the operations manager of the Ambulance company Distress Alert.
He reportedly added there was “no proof of any negligence” on the part of his company. He further said that the woman was one of several people involved in a car accident which left two others dead on Sunday, 24 June.
