Heartbreaking VIDEO: Police Officer Kneels down on Black Man's neck, Suffocates victim to Death!

The video shows a police officer kneeling down on his neck for more than five minutes. The man could be seen shouting “Your Knee in my neck. I can’t breathe... Mama. Mama,” but the officer continues to kneel him down.

Bystanders could be seen shouting at the police officers. Meanwhile, some of them filmed a video of the incident.

The African- American man slowly grows silent and then motionless. Even at this point, one could notice that the officers are shouting at him and asking him to “get up and get in the car.”

He was taken to the hospital where he was declared to be dead. The man has been identified as George Floyd.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey fired the four police officers who caused the death of George Floyd while he was in custody on Monday. Frey expressed his dissent and told that the officers should be prosecuted for murder.

"What I saw was wrong at every level. For five minutes, we watched as a white officer pressed his knee into the neck of a black man. Being black in America should not be a death sentence, “ Frey said in a video.

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump told the media that Floyd had been accused of forgery, a charge often used for using fake banknotes. "This abusive, excessive and inhumane use of force cost the life of a man who was being detained by the police for questioning on a non-violent charge," he said.

On Tuesday night, hundreds of people gathered in Minneapolis to decry the custody death of George Floyd. Protesters sprayed graffiti, vandalized police cars and damaged windows.

Reportedly, officers confronted the protesters and fired tear gas. “One person was shot in a non-life-threatening incident, said police spokesman John Elder. A suspect fled the scene. It wasn't clear if the violence was related to the protests. The shooting happened inside a building near the site where Floyd was detained a day earlier,” NBC News reported.

Cases of brutality and violence against African- American people have surfaced earlier as well.

According to the Washington Post Fatal Force database, more than 1,000 people have been shot and killed by police in the last year. According to the database, Black Americans are killed by police at a disproportionate rate.

As per Al Jazeera’s report, African American adults are nearly six times as likely to be imprisoned or jailed than white adults, according to the Sentencing Project watchdog group.

The protest and social media outrage could be seen as a culmination of people’s response to racial disparities in US.
