PM Modi Praises Tamil Language in His Speech in UN General Assembly!
Home > News Shots > World newsPrime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, used the famous quote "We belong to all places, and to everyone" by ancient Tamil poet Kaniyan Pungundranar to underline the need for all the countries to cooperate in all the matters from development to anti-terror initiatives.
The quote means that everybody in this world should be bound by a single moral and legal code that will prevent humankind from creating differences. Kaniyan Pungundranar is an influential Tamil poet who lived during the Sangam age.
In his speech, PM Modi said that India has worked for the welfare of the world over the last five years while strengthening its tradition of "fraternity among nation."
"Our efforts are not just for show, they are people-centric. Our efforts are for the entire world, especially other nations that are trying to achieve a change for the better just like us. I want India to develop at an even faster pace so that our experiences can help the rest of the world too," he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
