Man Asks For Biryani Before Getting His Cancer-Affected Stomach Removed
Home > World newsYou can never have "too much" of biryani!
When doctors told Ghulam Abbas, a Dubai resident, that he had a life threatening disease, Abbas had a strange request.
According to a report in the Khaleej Times, Abbas had been undergoing treatment since a long time to get rid of his stomach cancer. He was advised by the doctors that his best hope to survive was to get his stomach removed. While Abbas was ready to undergo surgery, he had a small wish before that - to eat a plate of chicken biryani.
"I asked the doctor if I could have chicken biryani as my last meal before the surgery. My wife prepared it and my brother carried it to the hospital," he was quoted as saying by the Khaleej Times.
The absence of a stomach doesn't mean Abbas cannot eat. He can eat small and non-spicy meals. According to the doctors, Abbas will soon be able to consume small meals. Till then, he has to make do with a liquid diet.
