In fact, there are discussions on various aspects including socio-economic causes, industrial exploitation and capitalistic ideology to name a few for the alarming level of global warming.
In a recent interview to truthout.org, Dr Marit Hammond, a lecturer in politics at Keele University, UK talked about the influence of social injustice that is carried by the people in their day-to-day life.
Ironically, people lack a moral responsibility to carry a reusable plastic or coffee mug (for instance) which also contributes to the rise in Global Warming. Talking more about 'Ecological democracy', Dr Hammond said, “Sustainability in the face of the current threats requires a fundamental cultural transformation”. More on Dr Marit Hammond's article is shared on her twitter account itself.
