The surface sample was COVID-19 positive. Previously Chinese cities had been reporting that the surface packaging of the imported frozen seafood wee coronavirus positive. However, this time, the surface of the meat in itself tested positive. The frozen batch of chicken came from the state of Santa Catatina, according to a registration number mentioned by a local news channel.
Three packaging samples of imported frozen seafood tested positive and a word of caution has been released. However, the people who came in contact with the product, tested negative. This has possessed an unknown threat to the frozen food that is being sold in the country. Hence consumers are to be cautious, the government added.
Further, a state media reported that a frozen batch of shrimp package tested positive for the virus at a restraint in Wuhu. Similarly, across the country many such packages arriving at restaurants and fast food outlets are testing positive for the deadly infection.
