French Bulldog Wins Election With Most Number of Votes; Becomes New Mayor
Home > News Shots > World newsAs the world is waiting to know the results of the US Presidential Elections between Donald Trump and Joe Biden; meanwhile a town called Rabbit Hash in Kentucky just finished an all-important election.
The mayoral elections took place in the town recently and it was a French bulldog named Wilbur Beast who emerged as the victorious candidate. He won the mayor race with 13,143 votes, which is the highest any candidate has ever gotten in this election.
This news went viral after a Facebook post was shared by the Rabbit Hash Historical Society where they declared the dog as the mayor of the town.
The post had photos where the dog was seen wearing a bow tie with the colours of the American flag on it.
"The results are in from the most important election that happened this year. Mayor Wilbur of Rabbit Hash is the winner of the Rabbit Hash mayoral elections 2020!!!! We look forward to working with Wilbur and Amy Noland. Congrats you guys," the caption read.
Taking a look at the other candidates, a beagle named Jack Rabbit and a labrador named Poppy lost out by a few votes but both of them had gotten more than 10,000 votes. However, both the dogs have been given the title of Rabbit Hash ambassadors.
Looking into Wilbur's promises and plans, he promises to be 'all ears' to hear out all grievances and help everyone out. Also, Rabbit Hash has been electing dogs as their mayors since the 1990s.
Each vote is $1 which goes to a fundraiser organized by the town's historical society.
