Former WWE star and the co-winner of the wrestling reality competition show “WWE Tough Enough III” in 2003, Matt Cappotelli, passed away on Friday after a battle with brain cancer. He was 38.
His wife Lindsay Cappotelli shared the news on social media on Friday, “Today my love-my strong, sweet, beautiful love-took his last breath at 3:30a.m. and went Home to be with Jesus...exactly one year after his brain surgery.”
Cappotelli was originally diagnosed with a malignant tumour in 2005 and it was removed in 2007. He returned to the wrestling world in 2013 and became a beginner's program trainer at Ohio Valley Wrestling.
However, he underwent a second brain surgery in June 2017 after revealing that his brain cancer had returned in a more aggressive form. He died exactly one year after having his second brain tumour surgery in 2017.
