No Normalcy Possible till the End of 2021 - Experts Clarify on COVID-19

As the hopes of returning to normalcy by the beginning of 2021 has grown immensely, experts are clarifying as otherwise. Dr Anthony Fauci, infectious diseases expert from the US has said that things can only return to the way they were by the end of 2021.

According to Fauci, even if one of the vaccines that are being tested get emergency authorisation, it will not be available to everyone immediately. Adding to this and corroborating to the statements of Fauci, Andrea Mitchell talking to MSNBC, clearly stated that even after the government launches a vaccine, the prime aim would be to vaccinate majority of the population which is most likely to happen by mid or the end of 2021.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has stated the statistics of US. It states that the country is starting the flu season with a baseline of 40,000 fresh cases. The number of deaths are amounting up to 1,000 on an everyday basis, reported Reuters. Meanwhile, globally the total number of cases are around 28.3 million and the deaths have increased to a new high. As per Johns Hopkins University around 9,13,000 people have died due to the new novel coronavirus infection.
