New COVID-19 Vaccine Claims To Neutralise Virus For A Year: Reports Scientists
Home > News Shots > World newsAs countries are coming together and working hard to come up with a virus to combat the deadly coronavirus, a new report on COVID-19 vaccine is going viral where it suggest that this vaccine can help to build proteins in the body that destroys the virus within two weeks.
As per a Daily Mail report, US researchers say that a new COVID-19 vaccine could be a few months away from human trials. Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh say that the new treatment would be 'painless jab' similar to the annual flu vaccine.
So far, the US team have tested the vaccine on mice and came to a conclusion that it should be able to neutralise the deadly virus for at least a year.
Meanwhile, Senior study author Professor Louis Falo, from the University of Pittsburgh, said that getting to human testing stage would usually require at least a year or more. "This particular situation is different from anything we've ever seen, so we don't know how long the clinical development process will take. Recently, announced revisions to the normal processes suggest we may be able to advance this faster."
This is the first coronavirus candidate vaccine that has been scrutinised by independent scientists, reports Daily Mail.
