"Hard to find the words to express..." UK PM Shares Video After Coming Out of Hospital
Home > News Shots > World newsHours after being discharged from the hospital, U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson took to social media and thanked medical staff for saving his life. In his video, he specially thanked two nurses - Jenny from New Zealand and Luis from Portugal for taking care during the crucial period in the ICU at St Thomas’s Hospital in London.
In the video, Johnson said, "I have today left hospital after a week in which the NHS has saved my life, no question. The reason in the end my body did start to get enough oxygen was because for every second of the night they were watching. And they were thinking and they were caring and making the interventions I needed.”
Meanwhile, Johnson’s wife, Carrie Symonds, who is pregnant said she will never stop thanking the staff at St Thomas’s Hospital, where Johnson was looked after. She took to social media saying, “There were times last week that were very dark indeed. My heart goes out to all those in similar situations, worried sick about their loved ones.”
Looking at the current stats, UK has reported more than 80,000 people testing positive for coronavirus with 10,612 death, according to the Department of Health and Social Care. Check out the video below:
It is hard to find the words to express my debt to the NHS for saving my life.
The efforts of millions of people across this country to stay home are worth it. Together we will overcome this challenge, as we have overcome so many challenges in the past. #StayHomeSaveLives pic.twitter.com/HK7Ch8BMB5
