Barack Obama Endorses Joe Biden to take on Donald Trump in Presidential Election!
Home > News Shots > World newsFormer US President Barack Obama on Tuesday morning endorsed Joe Biden, his two-term vice president, in the race for the White House.
"Choosing Joe to be my vice president was one of the best decisions I ever made, and he became a close friend. And I believe Joe has all the qualities we need in a president right now," Obama said in a video posted on Twitter.
Obama praised Biden for his efforts during the H1N1 outbreak in 2009, helping "to prevent the Ebola epidemic from becoming the type of pandemic we're seeing now."
"Joe has the character and the experience to guide us through one of our darkest times and heal us through a long recovery," Obama said.
"And I know he'll surround himself with good people – experts, scientists, military officials who actually know how to run the government and care about doing a good job running the government, and know how to work with our allies, and who will always put the American people's interests above their own."
In response, Biden said in a tweet that Obama's endorsement "means the world to Jill and me. We're going to build on the progress we made together, and there's no one I'd rather have standing by my side."
