Due to this, scientists are currently working towards finding vaccines that would be effective. Most of the researchers and public health experts are hopeful that we will have a vaccine by the end of this year. Close to 200 vaccines are being developed at this point and almost seven vaccine candidates are in the 3rd phase which is the final phase of human trials.
These vaccine candidates from the University of Oxford, Moderna, Oxford/Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine, Moderna mRNA vaccine, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac Biotech, CanSino Biologics, and China National Biotec Group (CNBG) are in the final phase of trials. Two of these are from, the CNBG which I owned by pharma giant China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm).

“It was reported that the Oxford-AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine, ChAdOx1, dubbed Covishield in India, is likely to be the first shots available for Indians by year-end, should the trials prove successful. The Oxford’s vaccine, which begins the phase 2 human trials at Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College and Hospital in Pune, is being handled by the Serum Institute of India (SII),” Times now reported.
