One Dead, 5 Seriously Injured In Shooting; Police Rush To The Scene
Home > News Shots > World newsIn a sad and shocking case, one person was killed while five others were seriously injured on Thursday in a shooting on the streets of Washington, D.C.
This shooting site was not far from the White House, police confirmed.
As per Reuters report, the police have not arrested a suspect and also do not know the motive for the shooting. The gunfire took place at 10:00 pm in the Columbia Heights neighborhood, which is about two miles (3 km) from the White House.
Meanwhile, Metropolitan Police commander Stuart Emerman said that "this was not an active shooting situation. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and looking for camera footage".
"Of the five wounded victims of the shooting, two were considered critical and other injuries ranged from serious to minor, but all were expected to survive their injuries, Emerman added.
All of the victims are adults, the police later confirmed. Currently, pictures and video are going viral on social media from the scene.
