WFH: From Facebook to Infosys, How do Major Tech Companies plan to Extend 'Work From Home'?

Tech companies have also reassured that they are not going step back from working from home anytime soon.
So how exactly are different companies planning to continue working from home. Here is a detailed report!
Work from Home at Google
CEO Sundar Pichai has announced that Google will continue to work from home almost until the end of this year. The current policy will remain in effect till June 1st. As per media reports, an information report released by google reveals that the return to office is expected to be very gradual. Also, the company is focusing on employing safety measures and transforming the in- office experience completely.
Work from home at Facebook
One of Facebook’s spokesperson told CNBC that Facebook too will announce shortly that they will be working from home till the end of this year. Facebook is expecting offices to remain closed till 6 July. The company has still not confirmed the list of first batch of employees who’d be asked to return to the office.
Last Month, Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company will not hold any gathering that exceeds 50 people until July 2021.
Work From home at Microsoft
Microsoft Spokesperson told the Business Insider that the company would allow employees to work from home till October 2020.
The spokesperson noted, “When restrictions lift, working from home will remain optional through October unless employees are in an essential role or local authorities mandate otherwise.”
Work from home at Amazon
Amazon Is one of the very few companies that continues to function despite the lockdown. Media reports highlight that several cases of COVID19 have emerged from its warehouses. Amazon too announced to its staff that the company will be working from home as long as they can and at least till October 2nd 2020.
Reportedly, the company is planning to invest heavily in putting safety measures into place for employees who’d like to work in office.
Work from Home at HCL
COVID19 situation is bad in India as well. The rigorous Nationawide lockdowns imposed by the govt., forced companies to start working from home. HCL has revealed that they do not know till when this situation would prevail and offices would be closed. They also revealed that even if its workforce resumes to work from office, 50% of them would be asked to work from home.
Work from home at Infosys
Infosys recently told that over 93 percent of its employees are currently working from home. Infosys has not announced the opening date. Last month it revealed even when they commence to work from office, it will happen in a phased manner.
“We are in no hurry to get employees back to offices. Our first phase of returns, when it happens, will likely get 5 percent of employees returning, and in the next phase will total about 15 percent,” India Times cited COO Pravin Rao’s statement.
Work from home at TCS
The Tech giant has announced that the company is not in a hurry to start working in offices. Although, official dates of reopening haven’t been announced, the company revealed that only 25 percent of its workforce will enter the offices in the initial phase.
“We believe that 25 percent of employees in our offices, spending only 25 percent of their time at the location, can make 100 percent of the people productive,” N. Ganapathy Subramaniam, chief operating officer (COO), TCS told in a statement.
