Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced at the company's annual F8 developer conference on Tuesday, that a new dating feature will be introduced in the social networking app.

He said, "There are 200 million people on Facebook that list themselves as single, so clearly there's something to do here." Reportedly, post-announcement, Facebook's share rose 1.1%.

The new feature will be available within the Facebook app. Only the user's first name will appear on the dating profile. The feature will connect users with people outside their friends list. Users can hide their dating profile from their Facebook friends.
