Air Arabia operates flights between Coimbatore and Sharjah. Airport customs officials have received a tip-off that a woman who was on a flight to Coimbatore from Sharjah on the 6th was smuggling drugs. Following this, when the plane arrived in Coimbatore, the authorities monitored and checked the passengers. Authorities suspect the woman was from Uganda at the time.
Following this, he was taken away alone and interrogated by the authorities. It was then revealed that he had smuggled the drug in capsule form into his stomach. Authorities then took the girl to Coimbatore Government Hospital to retrieve the contraband.
Meanwhile, interrogation revealed that he was Sandra Nandasa (age 33), the wife of Andrew, a native of Uganda. 81 tablets were taken out of his stomach which was allowed for treatment. Authorities were sent to investigate to find out what kind of drug it was.
At the end of the study it was revealed that it was a drug called ‘metrophetamine’. The international value of the drug is estimated at Rs 4 crore, officials said. Authorities are still investigating the case against the Ugandan woman.
