The state of Kerala is selling lottery tickets on behalf of the government. Lottery tickets are sold during festive seasons including Onam, Christmas, Malayalam New Year and Vishu. The lucky ones are selected by shaking and the prizes are given away.
In this context, the lottery was launched last month ahead of the Malayalam New Year Vishu festival. The first prize of 10 crore rupees was announced. In the ensuing lottery shake-up, a bumper prize of Rs 10 crore fell on a lottery ticket bought by a person. But it is not known who bought the ticket. For a week it was not known who the lucky one was.
In this case, it has been reported that a person from Tamil Nadu bought the lottery ticket that won the bumper prize. Dr. Pradeep Kumar (age 50) hails from Bapuji Street next to Manawalakurichi in Kanyakumari district. He has been working as a Regional Medical Officer at Muttam Government Primary Health Center. His wife is Dr. Lekha (age 45). He runs a hospital in Manawalakurichi.
On the 15th, Pradeep Kumar went to the Thiruvananthapuram airport to pick up a relative who had returned to the city from abroad. He is accompanied by his brother-in-law Ramesh (age 64). The two then bought the Kerala lottery ticket they had bought together.
This was followed by a shake-up on the 22nd. In it, the prize falls on the lottery ticket they bought. But lottery agents and lottery officials have been searching for the past 10 days without knowing who bought the lottery. In this situation Dr. Pradeep Kumar and his relative Ramesh went to Trivandrum and handed over the lottery ticket to the office of the Director, Kerala State Lottery Department.
