Daughter enters wedlock in front of a life-size wax statue of father!

The incident of the daughter's wedding before the wax statue of the deceased father near Tirukovilur has been the talk of the town.

Padmavathi hails from Thanakanandal village near Tirukovilur in Kallakurichi district. Her husband is Selvaraj (age 56). Selvaraj died on March 3 last year due to ill health. In this context, Selvaraj's youngest daughter Maheshwari was married today to Jayaraj, who runs a printing press in Tirukovilur.

While Selvaraj was planning to hold his daughter's wedding while he was alive, he died due to ill health. Maheshwari, who has a lot of affection for her father, is sad that she does not have a father on her wedding day.

To fulfill her father's last wish, Selvaraj's family made a wax statue of him at a cost of Rs.5 lakhs. They made the statue as realistic as Selvaraj sitting in a silk vesthi and shirt.

The idol was placed in front of the priests and wedding ceremonies took place. Maheshwari, took blessings at the feet of her parents, burst into tears at the sight of her father Selvaraj's statue. Relatives who came to the wedding said that the idol did not look like a statue at all as it looked as if Selvaraj had appeared in real.
