Kirikathirvel (age 54) hails from Negamam Kattampatti near Pollachi in Coimbatore district. He locked the house with his family and went out yesterday for mourning. Later in the evening, when he returned home, it was revealed that the jewelery and money in the bureau had been stolen.
Shocked, Kirikathirvel lodged a complaint with the police. Police are investigating the complaint. The police suspected that the door of the house was not broken and the money in the bureau was stolen.
Following this, the police have raised suspicion against a woman named Revathi (age 32) from Usilampatti, Madurai district, who was working in a nearby poultry farm. Thus she was summoned and interrogated. But at trial she answered back and forth inconsistently. Suspected police raided his home.
14 pieces of jewelery and Rs 4,500 were recovered from his house. During the ensuing interrogation, Revathi observed that Kirikathirvel had gone out with his family. It was later revealed that she had taken the key from the washing machine in front of the house, opened the door and stole the money and jewelery from the bureau. Police have registered a case against him and arrested her.
