Bride stops marriage at last minute for her brother - details!

The incident where the bride stopped the wedding because of her brother who said that he did not like the groom has caused a stir.

He was engaged to be married to a 32-year-old man from Virudhachalam and a 21-year-old woman from Chidambaram. Their wedding was scheduled to take place at the Vriddhachalam Kolanchiappar Temple yesterday morning. Thus both the household relatives were of the color who came to the temple. As the time approached, the bride was dressed and brought to the wedding party by her relatives.

The groom, who is disabled, is working at IIT Chennai. He is already married and his first wife died 2 years ago. So he was engaged to be married to a young woman from Chidambaram for a second marriage.

The bride's brother, who knew about the groom, said he did not like the groom. Also, the mother has told her sister that she will take her own life if she marries beyond this. The bride has to look her best during this time, because of posterity more than anything else.

Shocked by this, the relatives negotiated. But, the bride did not consent to the marriage. Thus a tensed atmosphere prevailed in the wedding hall.
