Chennai: Youth fakes robbery after stabbing girlfriend

Police arrested a youth named Kaviyarasan who faked robbery after stabbing his girlfriend in Ernavoor, Chennai, say reports. He had an argument with the girl for allegedly hiding her conversations with other men. During the argument, he drew the knife he had hidden and stabbed the girl in a fit of rage.

She had injuries in her face. He took the girl to a hospital where he said that they were attacked and robbed of their jewellery. However, his lie came to light when police questioned him further. Similar incidents have spiked in the recent past with women falling victims to brutal attacks by their boyfriends.
