Police have reportedly arrested a youth in Tiruchendur near Tuticorin for posting defamatory remarks about a panchayat administrative officer on Facebook. According to reports, Saravanan posted the remarks after the government officials removed his shop, which was allegedly set up without permission in an encroached place at the entrance of the bus stand. Following a complaint from the official, the police presented the man before the judge and later lodged him in prison.
