According to an NDTV report, the Vedanta is working to legally challenge the Tamil Nadu government for its decision to close the Sterlite copper smelter. However, the legal action will not be processed until the tension over the deaths of 13 people during protests has eased.
The Tamil Nadu government on Monday ordered the Sterlite plant to be permanently closed. The London-listed company reportedly claimed that challenging the Tamil Nadu government's decision is the only option it has got.
